Moving On
This paper piece started out as one giant piece of watercolor paper with lyrics from Kelly Clarkson’s Since You Been Gone written on the bottom layer. After painting, it was cut into 6 smaller pieces and here you have one of the 6, Moving On, featuring part of a bright pink petaly flower and part of a teal colored rose. The base layer is painted with acrylic paint and then collage has been added on top.
All collage pieces are painted recipe pages from a Southern Living cookbook from 1997. I picked it up at a thrift store when I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for $1. I had no idea at the time that these pages would make the perfect collage papers because of their weight and also I love the hint of the words mixed in. The deep navy background makes the colors pop and there are finishing touches added in gold metallic pen.
The size of the paper is something weird around 9”x11” but the visible portion is 8”x10”. The included white mat makes the final piece ready for an 11”x14” frame, which you can easily find in just about any store and online! Just pop it in a frame and it’s ready for eternal enjoyment.
